Inside the tank are two bolts holding the tank on to the base. Unscrew these two bolts and carefully lift loud toilet the tank from the base. Remove tank to the trash.
Be cautious. If you've just become aware of a problem with water line repair in your home, there are a few steps you should take. First, if there's a lot of water (such as from flooding), you should turn off your electricity to avoid electrocution. Also, don't use your regular household appliances (such as a vacuum cleaner) to remove water. If the water is contaminated (such as from a sewage line), you and your family should leave the home so that you don't get sick. Finally, if the water is from a leak, try to locate the leak's source and turn off the water to prevent further damage.

Sinks don't leak if they're new." He even showed me what to do. He took out a big heavy-duty screwdriver with a big flat-head blade and showed me. "This is what's probably lose." He put the blade of the screwdriver in a notch the size of a giant screw head that was right in the center of the drain basket where the plug sat in.

Then, you can take your new shower parts home and reinstall them in the inner assembly. It is very important that everything be aligned properly and tightened to prevent leaks. Beware of over tightening, however, since this can also cause problems. Once you are sure everything is installed properly, replace the cover plate and turn the water back on to test your repair work. With a little bit of work, your do-it-yourself shower repair project can be a success. It does not take an expert, just a little effort and know how.
